Successful EC Webinar on Dissemination & Exploitation Novelties in Horizon Europe with Eurice Experts

On 9 June 2021, a virtual training session expounded on the changes in dissemination and exploitation (D & E) arising from the new EU research and innovation funding programme, Horizon Europe. The webinar was organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation and held by representatives from the EC, the META Group and experts from Eurice in their role as team members of the European IP Helpdesk. The IP Helpdesk team also acted as co-organisers of the event. The webinar was streamed live and a recording as well as the presentations can be accessed via the event website: https://bit.ly/3zhk9aB. The successful webinar was joined widely by 1.500 training participants.

“A holistic approach to modern research sees research and innovation management, including communication, dissemination and exploitation activities, working hand in hand”, said Eurice’s Stephanie Weber (Head of Communications & Marketing) in her opening presentation on the concepts of communication, dissemination and exploitation, before the webinar offered an overview of the changes on D & E within Horizon Europe. Beneficiaries also found out how to meet the obligations of the D & E section in the proposal.

In his role as expert from the European IP Helpdesk and the new Horizon IP Scan support service, Jörg Scherer, CEO of Eurice, as well as representatives from the EC delved into the issue of IP management. The speakers highlighted the need for a sound IP strategy as IP matters will play an increasingly central role in Horizon Europe in comparison to earlier EU framework programmes. The two EC support services aimed at maximising the visibility and impact of R&I projects, the Horizon Results Platform and the Horizon Results Booster, were also introduced.

A Q & A session lead by the experts accompanied the webinar and participants were able to pose their questions related to IP or Horizon Europe via sli.do.
