A new EU Innovation Platform has been launched, providing a central entry point for innovators and start-ups seeking support to bring their ideas closer to the market. Developed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), the platform aims to make Europe’s innovation support landscape more accessible and connected.
Created in the context of the EU Startup and Scaleup Strategy, the platform brings together a range of existing EU innovation services, tools, and opportunities through a more streamlined and user-friendly interface. Its objective is to help innovators more easily identify the resources most relevant to their needs and accelerate the journey from research and innovation to commercialisation.
At the heart of the platform is an intelligent recommendation engine that matches users with tailored support based on factors such as their sector, location, innovation maturity, and specific needs. Registered users can receive personalised recommendations on services, funding opportunities, events, and relevant news.
Initially, the platform is targeted at innovators who have already benefited from EU funding and are seeking to scale their solutions, create jobs, and strengthen Europe’s competitiveness. In the coming months, access will be expanded to a wider range of stakeholders, including start-ups, business support organisations, investors, and corporates, further contributing to a more integrated European innovation ecosystem.
