European Commission Launches Community of Practice for Knowledge Valorisation Intermediaries

The European Commission has opened a call for expressions of interest to join a new Community of Practice that will contribute to the development of a European competence framework for knowledge valorisation intermediaries. As part of the European Research Area (ERA) Policy Agenda 2025–2027, the initiative seeks to strengthen the skills and capacities of professionals supporting the translation of research results into societal and economic impact.

The Community of Practice will bring together a wide range of stakeholders—including technology transfer professionals, innovation intermediaries, IP experts, incubators, investors, researchers, and public authorities—to exchange experiences and help shape a flexible EU-wide competence framework. Participants will collaborate through a series of online meetings taking place between September and November 2026.

The outcomes of the initiative will inform future European Commission policy guidance and contribute to strengthening knowledge valorisation and innovation ecosystems across Europe.
