Eurice in Conversation with 'Saarbrücker Zeitung': INCREASE Citizen Science Experiment Gains Media Attention
Tamara Messer, senior project manager at Eurice, recently spoke to the 'Saarbrücker Zeitung', a newspaper for the Saar region in Germany. The topic of discussion was the successful Citizen Science Experiment (CSE) that is underway as part of the INCREASE project.
Since 2021, INCREASE has conducted several rounds of the CSE. This experiment allows hobby gardeners to participate in scientific research by growing various varieties of beans and submitting their results to the project researchers via a dedicated mobile app.
To date, more than 13,000 people across Europe have participated in the CSE. However, according to Tamara, the Saarland region needed to catch up a bit. Fortunately, the news article is already showing its effect: In just a single day, more than 75 citizens from the Saar region registered for the experiment, making Saarland the leading state in Germany for new participants. They will become part of a vivid European bean enthusiast community that has formed around the experiment.
