PIONEERED Project Launches Animated Video: Tackling Educational Inequalities by Transforming Educational Policy
Inequality in European education systems remains a considerable problem. The EU-funded research project PIONEERED has just released a video clip introducing viewers to the premise of the project and its ambitious goal to investigate and address educational inequality. Based on a storyboard and visual ideas from Eurice, the video clip was produced in close cooperation with all PIONEERED partners to ensure that all key aspects of the complex research project are considered.
In dark and muted colours, the animated video clip emphasises the long-term negative effects of educational inequality on a person’s life chances, before showing PIONEERED’s vision for the future of European education systems in bright and cheerful tones. Following a diverse group of characters from their childhood to their teens and, finally, to their adulthood, the clip highlights how PIONEERED considers the complex interplay of experienced inequality throughout a person’s life and in different settings – from daycare to school and the home and peer-group environment. Overall, the short video demonstrates in an entertaining way how the PIONEERED research results can contribute to promoting equality in education.
The clip is available on the PIONEERED project website and on YouTube.
