EURICE at Web Summit 2025: Connecting with the Next Generation of Innovators and Entrepreneurs

This November, the Web Summit 2025 in Lisbon once again brought together more than 70,000 participants from the global tech and innovation community – a place where ideas, policy, and entrepreneurship intersect. Over the years, the Web Summit has become an integral touchpoint for the European innovation landscape – combining policy dialogue, technology showcases, and entrepreneurial energy.

Representing the European IP Helpdesk, Claire Fritz, Senior Innovation Manager at EURICE, joined the Summit to engage with startups, scale-ups, and innovation stakeholders on how strategic IP management can turn ideas into market success.

“Our work with the European IP Helpdesk is about helping innovators see intellectual property not as an obstacle, but as a driver of collaboration, investment, and growth,” explains Claire Fritz. “Meeting founders at Web Summit gives us the chance to share practical insights on how to identify, manage, and valorise their intellectual assets from the very beginning.”

This year, a thematic highlight was the session “Empowering Innovation: Building the Next Generation of Global Entrepreneurs”, which explored how collaboration, mentoring, and ecosystem thinking can shape the next wave of European entrepreneurship. The discussion echoed a principle long shared by EURICE: innovation does not happen in isolation.
