Worum es geht
RURACTIVE supports rural communities in shaping their own pathways towards a just and sustainable transition.
The project works with 12 pilot areas, the RURACTIVE Dynamos, to establish local Multi-Actor Rural Innovation Ecosystems that bring together communities, public authorities, researchers, businesses and civil society. Through co-creative processes, capacity building and digital tools, RURACTIVE helps these local ecosystems develop, implement and monitor smart, place-based solutions that respond to concrete territorial needs while contributing to wider European transformation goals.
Warum es wichtig ist
Rural areas are essential to Europe’s green and digital transitions, yet many communities face demographic change, infrastructure gaps and fewer innovation resources.
RURACTIVE strengthens the capacity of rural communities to turn local assets, knowledge and creativity into practical solutions. By combining place-based experimentation with transnational exchange, the project helps ensure that rural innovation is not designed for communities, but with them — including voices that are often underrepresented in decision-making.
