ENTRACTE Workshop & Progress Meeting in the heart of stylish Milan

On February 16-18, 2015 the ENTRACTE consortium met for its 4th progress meeting and held a “Workshop on Policy Interactions and Overlapping Policies”. This event was hosted by project partner Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) in its premises in Milan.

During the first day, all project partners presented their scientific, dissemination and management results and the project progress up to date was extensively discussed.

The second day was fully dedicated to the ENTRACTE workshop on policy interactions and overlapping policies. Four sessions were held that are related to the project research themes, such as Interaction of Climate Policies with Innovation and Technology Diffusion, Energy Policies and Competitiveness and Trade. Each session was opened with the presentation of an invited speaker. Margaret Taylor, Karen Turner, Carolyn Fischer and Peter Vis gave insights into “Retrospective review, innovation and appliance standards”, “International spillover and rebound effects from increased energy efficiency in Germany”, “Strategic subsidies for green goods” and “EU ETS: a decade of co-existence”. Key outcomes of the workshop on lessons learned from theoretical and empirical analysis in the past 2.5 years were directly linked to the meeting on the next day.
On the third day, the summary of lessons learned from the workshop shaped a very fruitful discussion on how to structure and organize the ENTRACTE Final Conference to be held in Brussels in September 2015. During the final conference, key findings of the project will be represented and policy recommendations will be derived. Thus, the final conference is the major event to convey all project findings and conclusions, especially to policy makers and stakeholders and to reach a widespread audience.

Eurice is the management partner of ENTRACTE and contributes to the successful implementation of the project goals.
