Welcome to Berlin: Eurice Organises Large-scale Epigenomics Conference and Scientific Symposium
This week, Berlin will be the venue for epigenomics researchers from around the world. Hosting this year’s annual meeting of the International Human Epigenome Consortium (IHEC) on 12 October followed by the “Science Days” Symposium on 13 and 14 October, the consortium of the German Epigenome Programme (DEEP) welcomes their international colleagues to Berlin. Responsible for project management and communications within DEEP, Eurice has taken the lead in organising the high-level three-day event.
The conference also marks the final meeting of DEEP. The national research initiative started in 2012 and has received €20 million funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research over the past five years.
"As central partner in IHEC, DEEP has made sustainable contributions to international epigenomics research – a core discipline of modern-day, personalised biomedicine – and has played a central role in shaping the consortium over the past years", said Prof. Jörn Walter from Saarland University, coordinator of DEEP and Co-Chair of the IHEC International Scientific Steering Committee.
While the Annual Meeting on Thursday will be dedicated to internal working group sessions and discussions on future directions of IHEC, the programme of the Science Days reflects the broad variety of research fields, interests and findings of today’s epigenomics studies.
