Successful information sessions on the last big round of calls in FP7
Researchers and representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises came together in Homburg and Kaiserslautern to get information about actual funding opportunities for research and innovation projects under the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7) which runs until the end of next year.
The countdown is on: Before the launch of the new EU framework programme „Horizon 2020“ in 2014, the forthcoming last round of FP7 calls is for now the last chance to apply for EU funds. With a budget of approximately €10 bn, the EU is supporting again innovative research projects and mobility measures covering a wide range of thematic areas open to a number of different target groups.
Against this backdrop, two information sessions took place in Homburg and Kaiserslautern, on 20th and 21st June 2012 focusing on the thematic areas "life sciences", "energy" and "environment". These information sessions were organized by Eurice in close cooperation with the “Enterprise Europe Network” (represented by the Zentrale für Produktivität und Technologie Saar e. V. and the IMG Innovations-Management GmbH).
In different presentations about latest calls for proposals, experts informed about thematic research priorities and funding instruments and gave practical advice on the general rules for participation. With all relevant details about the application procedure at hand, participants had the chance to get useful advice on how to turn their ideas and project plans into a successful participation in the various funding programmes. The talks were followed by individual questions and discussions as well as an exchange of practical tips and participants’ experiences regarding the establishment of a consortium and the timely planning of project proposals.
Based on good practice examples and experiences, Eurice presented what efforts and challenges have to be faced when applying for EU funds and explained how Eurice experts can offer professional support along the whole life cycle of a project: from the very first idea to its successful completion.
