We congratulate: Eurice external expert Eugene Sweeney Joins Jury of EIT Innovators Award 2017

Congratulations to one of our valued IP and innovation experts: Dr Eugene Sweeney, longstanding partner of Eurice and the European IPR Helpdesk, has been a member of the jury for this year’s Innovators Award of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The award ceremonies took place at the EIT Innovation Forum INNOVEIT in Budapest, October 16-17. The EIT Innovators Award recognises innovation teams that have developed a product, service or process with a high potential for societal and economic impact.

Training for Researchers, SMEs and the European Commission

With his over 35 years of practical experience managing innovation and commercialising new technologies, we are proud to have Eugene Sweeney on board as a regular contributor to our IP and innovation training scheme for researchers and SMEs as well as EC project officers and reviewers. For 25 years, he has been active as a European Commission expert in innovation, IPR and ICT and as a member of the European (CEN) and international (ISO) standards committees. With a number of renowned publications in the fields of intellectual property rights, technology transfer, impact and exploitation, Eugene Sweeney can be considered one of the leading experts in the European innovation community.

Exploring the Potential of EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities

Eurice has an outstanding track record in supporting EIT activities in providing training, proposal and project management support for innovative European start-ups and SMEs active within the EIT scheme.

Only two weeks ago, we welcomed around 40 CEOs of the most promising start-ups and SMEs in the European Health and Biotech business for a strategy training on business valuation and negotiation with equity investors in Berlin. The majority of the companies have been actively involved in the Horizon 2020 SME instrument or the EIT Health Accelerator.

Furthermore, Eurice has been providing proposal and project management support for the EIT Health KIC projects CLOSE and RAMSES (starting from 01 January 2018) as well as the EIT Climate KIC project SSD.
